CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Jewelry should always be handled with care, no matter what material it is made of. Jewelry is not only an accessory but ART and sometimes art can be delicate.

  • If jewelry is dropped or stored incorrectly, it might break or become damaged.

  • please be careful when removing jewelry from the cardboard jewelry holder. When removing earrings, gently remove the earring backs and twist them rather than pull. If twisting is not possible, just pull really gently.

  • do not get your jewelry wet, don't swim, shower, etc. with jewelry on.

  • avoid using chemicals, perfume, jewelry cleaners, etc. on or near the jewelry.

  • store in cool and dry places to avoid tarnishing.

  • put on jewelry after all makeup, perfume, hairspray, etc. have been applied.

  • if polymer clay gets dirty or stained (usually by makeup) you can use a soft cloth with water or a cotton swab and acetone/rubbing alcohol to gently wipe the surface.

  • if polymer clay is coated (shiny, glossy) clean only with a baby wipe - very gently - no alcohol, because it ruins the coating.

  • please do not drop your jewelry, bend it in any way, or put pressure on it.

  • avoid storing in things like pockets and purses.

  • consider placing a packet of silica gel inside your jewelry box to absorb any excess moisture.

  • do not sleep with the earrings on, and after wearing it - clean it with a soft cloth, and store it safely.

  • touching jewelry too much when you are wearing it, can leave earrings greasy, and can damage it.

METAL JEWELRY COMPONENTS: GOLD/SILVER PLATED STEEL/BRASS, RAW BRASS

(cleaning tips)

  • all instructions from before also apply.

  • raw brass components, such as charms, may tarnish or darken over time if they are exposed to water and oils from the skin. They can be easily cleaned with a soft jewelry cloth and/or tarnish remover. If that happens, make sure, you only clean the brass component and not polymer clay.

  • gold or silver plated components may appear dull and dark after time, but you can restore them by simply mixing a small amount of dish soap with warm water and gently wipe the metal clean. Be careful and do not include polymer clay parts in the cleaning, especially if they are polished.

  • consider placing a packet of silica gel inside your jewelry box to absorb any excess moisture.

GOLD-FILLED, GOLD VERMEIL, AND STERLING SILVER JEWELRY

  • always be gentle with your jewelry, especially with sterling silver, which is a very soft metal.

  • clean your gold vermeil - gold plated sterling silver, and gold-filled components using a mixture of mild dish soap and warm water, rinse it, and gently damp it with a soft cloth. Never rub it after washing as this can cause discoloring.

  • clean sterling silver jewelry using a silver cloth for polishing, using warm soapy water, or using baking soda.

  • consider placing a packet of silica gel inside your jewelry box to absorb any excess moisture.

  • keep different metals separate from each other, gold vermeil especially.

  • please do not drop your jewelry, bend it in any way, or put pressure on it.

  • avoid storing in things like pockets and purses.

  • do not sleep with jewelry on. After wearing it, clean it with a soft cloth, and store it safely.

  • avoid wearing your jewelry in the ocean or swimming pools, as salt water and chlorine can cause damage.

  • keep your jewelry as dry as possible and away from pesky humidity! Make sure you store it individually as rubbing it against other jewelry can cause it to lose its sheen.

  • avoid wearing your jewelry when cleaning. Exposure to heavy detergents and cleaning agents can be detrimental.

  • be mindful that perfume, hairspray, and hand lotions may tarnish your jewelry due to the harsh chemicals they contain.

  • gently wipe your jewelry with a jewelry polishing, non-scratch cloth every now and again to promote shine.

  • excessive touching of jewelry, whether by yourself or other people, can lead to surface friction and discoloring – so try to avoid the temptation!
